Medical Coding
The Coding team reviews appropriate clinical documentation and assigns diagnoses, procedures, and relevant modifiers and enters these in the System.
The Coding team also ensures conformity with payor-specific billing requirements and similar matters.
When coding has been completed, cases are reflected as ready for data entry in the System. Cases with outstanding coding issues or questions are annotated and flagged as pending in the System.
Pending items are addressed by the Coding team, monitored by the Coding manager, and returned to clients for assistance with resolution as needed.
